Guidance for Face to Face Evaluations for Tornillo ISD:

The following are protocols and procedures that Tornillo ISD will put in place for the health and safety of both the examiner and the examinee while adhering to test administration standardization practices.

The nature of the testing environment does not lend itself to social distancing or traditional masks. The validity and reliability of test scores can be influenced by factors such as fatigue and misunderstanding test instructions. To this end there are protocols and procedures that will need to be put in place for the health and safety of both the examiner and the examinee. Please read below so that you are aware of the procedures to follow for testing.

  1. The day of the testing session, the following will be conducted for face to face evaluations:
    1. If testing at Central Office: The student will need to have a mask to enter the building. The student will not be allowed into the building if the student does not have a mask.
    2. If on campus, the student will go into the testing area with wearing a mask.
    3. The following will be administered:
      1. examinee temperature check,
      2. prescreening checklist,
      3. then evaluator and the examinee will walk to the testing location using a route that will limit exposure to other staff and students; and
      4. proper hand washing is required before/after testing session
      5. Prior to entering the testing location, social distancing measure will be implemented

     

  2. When in the testing location: the examiner will wear a face shield or clear face mask and gloves throughout the session. A sneeze guard will be placed in between the evaluator and the examinee, the student will be allowed to remove the face mask at this time.
  3. The examinee and examiner will remain in the room during the breaks. If possible, the testing room will be located where there is a restroom nearby as to limit contact with staff and students.

 

The Prescreening checklist will contain the following Information regarding symptoms associated to COVID-19:

 

  • Cough
  • Diarrhea
  • Loss of taste or smell
  • Difficulty Breathing
  • Rash
  • Repeated shaking with chills
  • Vomiting
  • Weakness
  • Joint pain
  • Chills
  • Sore Throat
  • Severe Headache
  • Nausea
  • Muscle pain
  • Shortness of breath

 

  1. Information regarding travel outside the county 2 weeks prior to the day of the scheduled evaluation
  2. Information about contact with a person who tested positive for COVID-19
  3. Information about contact with a person who has had COVID-19 signs or symptoms
  4. Information that the examiner or examinee tested positive for COVID-19 confirmed by a physician
