Updated September 27, 2022: We are at the end of our first quarter of the 2022-2023 school year, and our boy's varsity XC team continues to improve with each meet. This past week they competed at Clint, placing 1st as a team with Torres and Romero finishing in 1st and 2nd! Miss Kylene Elias is back, finishing 2nd at the Clint course!

The previous week, they placed 2nd at the Lubbock invitational with Romero and Torres in the top 5! And the week before that, the team finished 5th overall at the Tornillo invitational, with Romero finishing 1st and Torres in 2nd.

Our XC team is making its mark only six weeks into the 2022 – 2023 school year! This past weekend, the Cross-Country Coaches Association of Texas (CCCAT) mentioned the boy's team as #6 for class 3A. While we have some new faces on the team, we are keen to see what our returning runners will do this season, specifically Mr. Angel Torres (senior) and Mr. Daniel Romero (junior).

So far, both young men have delivered as they improve each meet. Romero recently finished second in the Trooper Twilight, with the team placing sixth overall. Torres has been working just as hard in hopes of returning to state. He received recognition during the preseason, being mentioned on Texas MileSplit’s fourth team.
