Adult Basic Education Program

The purpose of the Tornillo Independent School District's Adult Education Program is to provide opportunities for individuals, especially educationally disadvantaged adults, to secure skills necessary for literacy, General Education Development, job training or job retraining, productive employment, and to be lifelong learners.

*FREE ESL Classes will be starting in September 2005. There will be 3 levels of ESL (Level 1, 2 and 3) and we will cover Grammar, Conversational English, and Reading.

Tornillo ISD ABE Program started its adult classes on September 6, 2005. This year we are offering 3 ESL Classes and both the participants and the teachers are very excited about the program. We have been registering students almost everyday and some classes have over 15 adult learners. Here are some pictures of some of the students and teachers in the program this year.
